How long is the duration for permanent residence registration under the new procedures?
In Clause 3, Article 26 of the 2020 Law on Residence, it is stipulated:
Procedures for adjusting information on residence are implemented as follows:
- For the case specified in point a, clause 1 of this Article, a household member submits the dossier specified in clause 2 of this Article to the residence registration authority. Within 03 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the residence registration authority is responsible for adjusting the information on the household head in the Residence Database and notifying the household member of the updated information; in case of refusal to adjust, a written notice must be given, clearly stating the reasons;
- For the case specified in point b, clause 1 of this Article, within 30 days from the date of the competent authority's decision on changes in civil status information, the person whose information is adjusted shall submit the dossier for registering the adjustment of relevant information in the Residence Database as specified in clause 2 of this Article to the residence registration authority.
Within 03 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the residence registration authority is responsible for adjusting the civil status information in the Residence Database and notifying the registrant of the updated information; in case of refusal to adjust, a written notice must be given, clearly stating the reasons;
- For the case specified in point c, clause 1 of this Article, the residence registration authority is responsible for adjusting and updating changes in information in the Residence Database.
And at Point b, Clause 1, Article 26, there are provisions on cases of adjusting information on citizens' residence:
- Changes in civil status information compared to the information stored in the Residence Database;
=> Therefore, according to the aforementioned provisions, the time limit for resolving the procedure for permanent residence registration for citizens is 3 working days.
