Documents Required for Vehicle Ownership Transfer

Based on Clause 2, Article 8 of Circular 58/2020/TT-BCA, the documents for transferring vehicle ownership include one of the following:

- Invoice, financial documents (receipt, payment slip) or purchase, donation, gifting documents of the vehicle (decision, contract, inheritance document) as prescribed by law;

- Bill of sale, donation letter of an individual with notarization or authentication or confirmation from an agency, organization, or unit currently working for the armed forces and foreigners working in diplomatic representative agencies, consular agencies, representative agencies of international organizations that register the vehicle according to the address of the agency, organization, or unit of work;

- For decommissioned police vehicles: Decision of vehicle decommissioning from the competent authority and invoice for the sale of public assets or invoice for the sale of state assets;

- For decommissioned military vehicles: Vehicle registration certificate, confirmation letter from the Bureau of Cars and Motorcycles, Ministry of Defense that the vehicle has been removed from military equipment, and invoice for the sale of public assets or invoice for the sale of state assets.
