Conditions on the Age for Marriage Registration
Based on Article 8 of the Law on Marriage and Family 2014, the conditions for marriage are stipulated as follows:
- Male from 20 years old or older, female from 18 years old or older.
- Marriage is decided voluntarily by the man and the woman.
- Not losing civil act capacity.
- The marriage does not fall under one of the prohibitions stipulated in points a, b, c, and d, Clause 2, Article 5 of the Law on Marriage and Family 2014.
- The State does not recognize the marriage of persons of the same sex.
Based on the above regulations, if you are male, your age does not meet the age requirement for male marriage; if you are female, your age is sufficient, you only need to meet the remaining criteria of the marriage conditions stipulated in Article 8 as mentioned above.
