Changing the Date of Birth: Is it Necessary to Change the Citizen Identification Card (CCCD)?
According to Article 5 of Decree 05/1999/ND-CP on the renewal and reissuance of Identification Cards, the regulations are as follows:
1- The following cases require the procedures for renewing Identification Cards:
a) The Identification Card has expired;
b) The Identification Card is damaged and cannot be used;
c) Change of surname, name, middle name, date, month, year of birth;
d) Change of permanent residence registration outside the province, centrally-run city;
e) Change of identifying features.
2- In case of losing the Identification Card, procedures for reissuing must be conducted.
***Therefore, in the case of changing the date of birth, you must submit a dossier to request the reissuance of the ID card. However, currently, the issuance of ID cards has ceased. Instead, you will need to follow the procedures for the issuance of a chip-based Citizen Identification Card (CCCD).***Respectfully!
