Cases Requiring Re-establishment of Personal Identification Numbers
Clause 1, Article 6 of Circular 59/2021/TT-BCA (Effective from July 1, 2021) stipulates the re-establishment of personal identification numbers as follows:
In cases where personal identification numbers are re-established due to a citizen's gender reassignment or correction of the year of birth in accordance with the laws on civil registration, the Commune Police where the citizen is permanently registered shall require the citizen to provide civil documents and materials that prove the gender reassignment or correction of the year of birth for verification, supplementation into the management records, and submission of a request to re-establish the personal identification number for the citizen to the agency managing the National Population Database of the Ministry of Public Security.
According to the above regulations, it can be seen that the re-establishment of personal identification numbers is carried out in the following cases:
- Citizens undergo gender reassignment;- Correction of the year of birth.
