Can Friends Visit During Temporary Detention?
According to Clause 1 Article 22 of the Law on Temporary Detention and Custody 2015, it is stipulated: The detainee is allowed to meet relatives once during the detention period, and once in each extension of the detention period. The temporarily detained person is allowed to meet relatives once a month; in cases where additional visits or non-relatives visit, the investigating agency must give consent. Each meeting time is no longer than one hour.
On the other hand, as per Clause 8 Article 3 of the Law on Temporary Detention and Custody 2015, the relatives of the detainee and the temporarily detained person include grandparents; biological parents, adoptive parents, parents-in-law; spouse; siblings or biological children, adopted children, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law of the detainee or temporarily detained person; grandchildren of the detainee or temporarily detained person if the detainee or temporarily detained person is a grandparent.
Thus, you are not allowed to visit that friend while they are in temporary detention.
Respectfully!
