Can a Birth Certificate with a Date of Birth Recorded in the Lunar Calendar be Corrected?
According to Clause 2, Article 7 of Decree 123/2015/ND-CP, the rectification of civil status as stipulated by the Law on Civil Status involves the correction of personal information in the Civil Status Register or in the original civil status documents. This rectification can only be carried out when there is sufficient evidence to determine that there was an error either due to a mistake by the civil status officer or by the person requesting the civil status registration.
When there is sufficient evidence to determine that there was an error due to a mistake by the person requesting the civil status registration, only then can the civil status be rectified. The person requesting the civil status registration can then proceed with the necessary procedures for this correction.
Therefore, if you were the one who previously requested the birth registration for your child, you may proceed with the procedures to rectify the civil status to correct the birth date according to the solar calendar.
Sincerely!
