What Should Be Checked Before Climbing the Scaffold to Ensure Safety in the Electric Power Sector?
Based on Section 91 of the National Technical Regulation on Electrical Safety (Issued together with Circular 39/2020/TT-BCT in 2020, effective June 1, 2021), the following provisions are stipulated:
Inspection before Climbing the Support
- Before climbing the support, pole, the unit staff must conduct a preliminary inspection:
+ The condition of the platform, support, pole.
+ The position of the support and safe climbing path, structure or conductor on the pole.
+ Identify necessary safety and labor protection equipment.
- In case of climbing a pole with insufficient stability, appropriate reinforcement measures must be taken to ensure safety before performing the work.
- The direct commander must order to stop the work if signs threatening the safety of personnel and equipment are detected.
