What is the purpose of the scientific research and technology development survey in 2022?

At sub-section 1.1, Section 1 of the Survey Plan on Scientific Research and Technology Development for 2022 issued together with Decision 975/QD-BKHCN in 2022, the purpose of the scientific research and technology development survey in 2022 is stipulated as follows:

1.1 Survey Purpose

The survey on scientific research and technology development (R&D) of research and development organizations; higher education institutions; scientific and technological service organizations; administrative agencies, public service providers; enterprises; and other organizations engaged in research and development aims to collect information on national scientific research and technology development to serve the assessment, formulation of policies, strategies, and plans for science and technology.

The R&D survey meets the data provision requirements to:

- Evaluate the current situation, analyze changing trends, and develop plans and strategies for R&D nationwide, by ministries, sectors, and localities;

- Evaluate the results of the implementation of policies on scientific and technological development, the Law on Science and Technology, plans, and programs on R&D. Serve international comparisons on R&D statistical indicators;

- Build a database on Vietnam's R&D to serve in-depth analyses and as a basis for subsequent surveys in future years.

1.2 Survey Requirements

The survey on scientific research and technology development must ensure the following requirements:

- Conduct the survey in accordance with the contents specified in the Survey Plan.

- Protect the confidentiality of the information collected from the survey subjects as stipulated by the Statistics Law.

- Manage and use the funds for the survey in accordance with current policies, utilizing them economically and efficiently.

- The survey results must meet the requirements of both domestic and international users; ensure international comparability.
