What is livestock product?
On November 19, 2018, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during its 6th session of the XIV tenure, passed the Livestock Production Law No. 32/2018/QH14 (hereinafter referred to as the Livestock Production Law 2018).
The Livestock Production Law 2018 regulates livestock production activities; rights and obligations of organizations and individuals in livestock production activities; and state management of livestock production.
According to the provisions of the Livestock Production Law 2018 (effective from January 1, 2020), livestock production is an economic-technical sector that includes activities in the fields of animal breeds, animal feed, livestock conditions, processing, and livestock product market.
Livestock production activities involve animal rearing for growth, breeding, and other activities related to animals and livestock products for the purpose of food, harnessing traction power, ornamental use, or other human purposes.
According to Clause 33, Article 2 of the Livestock Production Law 2018, livestock products include meat, eggs, milk, honey, beeswax, silkworm cocoons, bird nests, bones, horns, hooves, internal organs; unprocessed feathers, skins, and other products extracted from livestock.
