What are regulations on safe distance from fuel dispencers to surrounding structures at ground-level gas stations in Vietnam?
The safe distance from fuel dispencers to surrounding structures at ground-level gas stations in Vietnam must comply with the requirements specified at Point c Clause 1 Article 9 of Circular 15/2020/TT-BCT. To be specific:
The safe distance from fuel dispencers to surrounding structures at ground-level gas stations in Vietnam is regulated in Table 4.
Table 4: Safe distance from fuel dispencers to surrounding structures at ground-level gas stations

- According to current regulations on electrical safety corridor. - According to current regulations of the telecommunications industry. |
Notes:
(1) Fire resistance level of the structure according to QCVN 06:2020/BXD National Technical Regulation on Fire Safety for buildings and structures.
(2) Distance for tanks is calculated from the edge of the operation pit (tank neck).
(3) Distance for fuel dispencers is calculated from the center of the fuel dispencer.
(4) High-density population areas include: schools, hospitals, stadiums, markets, shopping centers, supermarkets, national exhibitions, train stations, bus stations, ports.(5) Distance for civil buildings is calculated to the building's boundary.
- The safe distances in Table 4 are allowed to be reduced by 30% when the station is equipped with a vapor recovery system for gasoline.
- The safe distance from storage tanks and fuel dispencers to high-density population areas is reduced to 25 meters (17 meters in case of a vapor recovery system) if the gasoline station is equipped with a fixed or semi-fixed firefighting system.
Best regards.
