Vietnam: May trade union members apply for reissuing a membership book?

In the Guidance 22HD/TWDTN on the implementation of the Charter of Ho Chi Minh Youth Union:

Every member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union must have a Membership Book, a Union Badge, and a Membership Card.

1- Dossier and management of trade union members

a) The dossier of trade union members is the Membership Book based on the template issued by the Central Youth Union Secretariat.

b) Management of trade union members:

- The branch committee must have a Branch Membership Book based on the template issued by the Central Youth Union Secretariat.

- The internal trade union committee must have a List of Members Book, monitor the admission of members, and issue Membership Cards; a book for introducing and receiving union activities.

- Annually, the branch committee is responsible for recording comments on members' strengths and weaknesses, commendations, disciplinary actions, and classification results in each member's book.

- The branch unions and internal trade unions are required to report the status of union activities in their units to the immediately superior union every quarter; district, provincial, and equivalent levels every six months, and annually.

=> Currently, Vietnamese law does not stipulate whether reissuing the Membership Book is allowed or not. Therefore, you can contact your branch committee to determine this matter.
