Safe Operations with GIS Equipment in Power Plants
Pursuant to Section 90 of the National Technical Regulation on Electrical Safety (promulgated together with Circular 39/2020/TT-BCT in 2020, effective June 1, 2021), the following provisions are stipulated:
Safe Operations with GIS Equipment
- In the case of normal operation, all manipulations must be performed remotely through the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) or the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. On-site manipulations are only permitted when the Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) is de-energized.
- The SF6 gas pressure and SF6 leak status must be checked during operation or maintenance. Upon detecting any leaks, immediate measures must be implemented to prevent and address them.
- When isolating equipment segment by segment, each isolation point must be locked and labeled with a warning sign.
- Verification that the GIS has been isolated must be confirmed through the local indicators of the switching devices and the voltage parameters of the equipment.
Sincerely!
