Requirements for Drive Systems and Pulleys of Home Elevators
The drive machinery and pulleys of home elevators must comply with the requirements specified in Section 3 of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 32:2018/BLDTBXH on Occupational Safety for Home Elevators (effective from March 01, 2019). Specifically:
- The elevator drive machinery must be installed in a location convenient for inspection, testing, and maintenance, and must use one of the following drive types:
+ Cable drive;
+ Chain drive;
+ Rack and pinion drive;
+ Screw drive;
+ Hydraulic drive.
+ At the location of the drive machinery and pulleys, no pipes, electrical cables, or other equipment not related to the elevator should be present.
The location used for installing the drive machinery and pulleys should not be used for purposes unrelated to the elevator.
- The temperature at the installation site of the drive machinery and electrical equipment must be maintained within the range of +5°C to +40°C.
- Hooks should be arranged on the ceiling of the elevator shaft for suspending lifting equipment to aid in the disassembly and assembly of the drive machinery and elevator equipment, ensuring occupational safety.
