Management of Livestock Waste Treatment Products According to the 2018 Law on Animal Husbandry

On November 19, 2018, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during its 14th tenure at the 6th session, passed the Law on Animal Husbandry No. 32/2018/QH14 (abbreviated as the 2018 Animal Husbandry Law).

The 2018 Animal Husbandry Law provides regulations on husbandry activities; the rights and obligations of organizations and individuals involved in husbandry activities; and state management of husbandry.

According to the provisions of Article 62 of the 2018 Animal Husbandry Law (effective from January 1, 2020), waste treatment products in husbandry, before being circulated on the market, must meet the following requirements:

- Public announcement of applicable standards and announcement of conformity to legal regulations;

- Possession of quality in compliance with the publicly announced standards;

- Product information has been posted on the electronic portal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

- Waste treatment products produced or imported into Vietnam for the first time containing new substances that have not been tested in Vietnam must undergo testing before product announcement.
