Is the Primary Breadwinner of the Family Required to Perform Military Service?
Point b Clause 1 Article 41 of the 2015 Law on Military Service stipulates the following cases eligible for deferment of military service:
Being the only laborer who directly supports family members who are incapable of working or not yet of working age; in families suffering significant loss of people and property due to accidents, natural disasters, dangerous epidemics, as confirmed by the People's Committee of the commune.
You must be the only laborer confirmed by the Commune People's Committee under one of the two cases specified above to be eligible for deferment of military service.
Please distinguish "only laborer" from "main laborer." You can also refer to the article: What is considered the only laborer in the family according to the Law on Military Service?
In case you are not identified as the only laborer as prescribed at Point b Clause 1 Article 41 of the 2015 Law on Military Service, you must undergo a health examination for military service according to the notice; if you meet the health and other requirements such as educational level, etc., you are eligible to participate in military service.
Sincerely!
