Dossier Requesting Republication of Supplementary Food Product Information
On November 19, 2018, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Session XIV, at its 6th meeting, passed the Livestock Production Law No. 32/2018/QH14 (referred to as the Livestock Production Law 2018).
The Livestock Production Law 2018 regulates livestock production activities; rights and obligations of organizations and individuals involved in livestock production activities; state management of livestock.
According to Clause 28, Article 2 of the Livestock Production Law 2018 (effective from January 1, 2020), supplementary feed is defined as single ingredients or a mixture of feed ingredients added to the diet to balance the essential nutrients for livestock; maintain or improve the characteristics of livestock feed; improve animal health, and the characteristics of livestock products.
As stipulated in Article 34 of the Livestock Production Law 2018, supplementary feed products must be appraised for publication on the electronic portal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This regulation does not apply to single ingredients.
In cases where the information of supplementary feed products produced domestically or imported has already been published, and there is a need to republish the information, an application for republishing must be prepared in accordance with legal regulations.
According to Clause 4, Article 34 of the Livestock Production Law 2018, the dossier for application to republish information about supplementary feed products is stipulated as follows:
- For domestically produced supplementary feed, according to point a, clause 2, Article 34 of the Livestock Production Law 2018;
- For imported supplementary feed, according to point a, clause 3, Article 34 of the Livestock Production Law 2018.
