Dossier for Requesting the Disclosure of Information on Domestically Produced Supplementary Food Products
On November 19, 2018, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Session XIV, at its 6th session, passed the Animal Husbandry Law No. 32/2018/QH14 (referred to as the Animal Husbandry Law 2018).
The Animal Husbandry Law 2018 outlines regulations for livestock activities; the rights and obligations of organizations and individuals involved in livestock activities; and state management of animal husbandry.
According to the provisions in Clause 28, Article 2 of the Animal Husbandry Law 2018 (effective from January 1, 2020), supplementary feed is defined as single or composite feed ingredients added to portions of diet to balance the necessary nutrients for livestock; maintain or improve the properties of animal feed; improve livestock health, and enhance the properties of livestock products.
According to the provisions in Article 34 of the Animal Husbandry Law 2018, supplementary feed products must be appraised and announced on the electronic portal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This regulation does not apply to single ingredients.
As per the provisions in Clause 2, Article 34 of the Animal Husbandry Law 2018, the dossier for requesting the announcement of information on domestically produced supplementary feed products includes the following:
- Application for product information announcement;
- Certificate of eligibility for animal feed production;
- Contract for rental or custom processing of animal feed for cases where organizations or individuals rent or custom process at an animal feed production facility which has been granted a Certificate of eligibility for animal feed production;
- Announced applicable standards, document of receipt notice for conformity announcement of the product;
- Test results slip for quality and safety parameters of the product within the announced applicable standards and corresponding national technical standards issued by a testing laboratory designated or recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
- Product label sample.
