What is an Industrial Gas Cylinder?

Pursuant to Clause 1 Article 4 and Article 6 of the Process of Technical Safety Inspection for Industrial Gas Cylinders issued in conjunction with Circular 17/2021/TT-BLDTBXH (Effective from January 01, 2022), the following provisions are stipulated:

1. What is an industrial gas cylinder?

An industrial gas cylinder is a cylinder used to contain and transport gases, liquefied gases, dissolved gases (industrial gases) with a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure and a water capacity of up to 150 liters, manufactured and labeled in accordance with the provisions of National Standards TCVN 6292:2013 and National Standards TCVN 6295:1997.

2. Conditions for the inspection of industrial gas cylinders?

When conducting an inspection of industrial gas cylinders, the following conditions must be ensured:

- The cylinder must be in a state ready for inspection.

For gas cylinders that have been fully filled with gas before being imported into Vietnam, the first technical safety inspection must be conducted according to the steps stipulated in Clause 1, Clause 2 Article 8 of this Inspection Process (excluding the steps stipulated in Clauses 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 Article 8 of this Inspection Process). A full inspection following the provisions of Article 8 of this Inspection Process is only carried out for cylinders before being refilled with gas for the next use or for cylinders that are due for inspection according to the provisions of Article 9 of this Inspection Process.

- The dossier and documents of the cylinder must be complete.

- Environmental and weather factors do not affect the inspection results.

- Occupational safety and hygiene conditions must be met to inspect the industrial gas cylinder.
