Allowances, support, and visits for officials in trade unions in Vietnam
Based on Point 2.1, Clause 2, Article 4 of the regulations on standards and allowances for expenses in trade union agencies issued with Decision 4291/QD-TLD in 2022, the standards and allowances for support, assistance, and visits to officials in trade union agencies are as follows:
- Officials, civil servants, and workers with authorized permission to sign labor contracts in trade union agencies who are ill, injured, or undergoing treatment at hospitals (inpatient or outpatient) due to illness, accidents, or epidemics, are eligible for a maximum visit allowance of 1,000,000 VND per visit, not exceeding twice a year.
- Officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies who suffer from serious illnesses are eligible for a maximum allowance of 3,000,000 VND per person per year.
- In the event of the death of officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies, the relatives of officials, civil servants, and workers are eligible for a maximum support of 5,000,000 VND; funeral expenses of 1,000,000 VND, and offerings and flowers.
- The father, mother, spouse, or child of officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies who pass away are eligible for a maximum allowance of 3,000,000 VND per person; funeral expenses of 1,000,000 VND, and offerings and flowers.
- Families of officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies facing sudden difficulties due to natural disasters, fires, accidents, epidemics, or other special reasons are eligible for a maximum allowance of 3,000,000 VND per occurrence; if a family member (father, mother, spouse, or child) suffers from a long-term illness or requires treatment due to an accident, they are eligible for a maximum visit allowance of 1,000,000 VND per visit, not exceeding twice a year.

The expenditure regime for officials in trade union agencies regarding retirement and job transfers in Vietnam
Based on Point 2.2, Clause 2 of this Article, the expenditure regime for officials in trade union agencies regarding retirement and job transfers is as follows:
a) Retirement gifts for officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies:
- Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL): Maximum expenditure: 4,000,000 VND per person.
- Provincial and city-level Trade Union Federations and equivalent units; Trade Union at the grassroots level directly under VGCL: Maximum expenditure: 3,000,000 VND per person.
Retirement gifts for officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies are provided by the respective units.
b) Job transfers for officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies to other units:
VGCL; Provincial and city-level Trade Union Federations and equivalent units; Trade Union at the grassroots level directly under VGCL: Maximum gift expenditure: 2,000,000 VND per person.
c) Members of the Executive Board and Inspection Committee who cease their participation in the Executive Board or Inspection Committee are given gifts as follows:
- VGCL: Maximum expenditure: 3,000,000 VND per person.
- Provincial and city-level Trade Union Federations and equivalent units: Maximum expenditure: 2,000,000 VND per person.
- Trade Union at the grassroots level directly under VGCL: Maximum expenditure: 1,000,000 VND per person.
d) Visits to retired trade union officials in trade union agencies on the occasion of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union and Lunar New Year will have a maximum expenditure of 300,000 VND per person per visit.
e) Visits to retired officials, civil servants, and workers in trade union agencies who suffer from serious illnesses will have a maximum expenditure of 1,000,000 VND per person per year.
f) Funeral visits for deceased retired trade union officials in trade union agencies will have a maximum expenditure of 1,000,000 VND per person, including expenses for offerings and flowers.
