Schedule for New Year Holiday 2022
Point a Clause 1 Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulates:
- Employees are entitled to leave from work with full pay on the following holidays and Tet:
- New Year: 1 day (on January 01 of the Gregorian calendar);
- Lunar New Year: 5 days;
- Victory Day: 1 day (on April 30 of the Gregorian calendar);
- International Labor Day: 1 day (on May 01 of the Gregorian calendar);
- National Day: 2 days (on September 02 of the Gregorian calendar and 1 contiguous day either before or after);
- Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 1 day (on March 10 of the Lunar calendar).
Clause 3 Article 111 also states: If a weekly day off coincides with any of the holiday or Tet days stipulated in Clause 1 Article 112 of this Code, employees are entitled to take compensatory leave on the next working day.

According to the calendar, January 01, 2022 falls on a Saturday.
Based on the above regulations, the New Year holiday schedule for employees will differ depending on their weekly day off. To be specific:
If the employee's weekly days off are Saturday and Sunday, the New Year holiday will be 3 consecutive days (from January 01 to January 03, 2022).
If the employee's weekly day off is Sunday, the New Year holiday will be 2 consecutive days (from January 01 to January 02, 2022).
If the employee's weekly day off falls on another day of the week, the New Year holiday will be only on January 01, 2022.
