Maximum Support Level for Employees According to Resolution 42

According to Resolution 42/NQ-CP in 2020 on measures to support people facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic:

- Employees working under labor contracts who have agreed to temporarily suspend the implementation of their labor contracts or take unpaid leave for one month or more because enterprises are facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic, without revenue or financial sources to pay salaries, are supported with an amount of VND 1,800,000 per person per month.

Support duration is based on the actual time of temporary suspension of the labor contract or unpaid leave, calculated monthly depending on the actual situation of the epidemic, starting from April 1, 2020, and not exceeding 3 months.

- Individual business households with tax-declared revenue of less than VND 100 million/year that temporarily stop doing business from April 1, 2020, are supported with VND 1,000,000 per household per month, calculated monthly depending on the actual situation of the epidemic but not exceeding 3 months.

- Employees who have had their labor contracts or work contracts terminated but are not eligible for unemployment benefits; employees without labor contracts who have lost their jobs are supported with VND 1,000,000 per person per month, calculated monthly depending on the actual situation of the epidemic but not exceeding 3 months. The implementation period is from April to June 2020.

- People with meritorious services to the revolution who are receiving monthly preferential allowances are additionally supported with VND 500,000 per person per month. The implementation period is 3 months, from April to June 2020, and payment is made in a lump sum.

- Social protection beneficiaries who are receiving monthly social allowances are additionally supported with VND 500,000 per person per month. The implementation period is 3 months, from April to June 2020, and payment is made in a lump sum.

- Poor households and near-poor households according to the national poverty standard listed as of December 31, 2019, are supported with VND 250,000 per person per month. The implementation period is 3 months, from April to June 2020, and payment is made in a lump sum.

Thus, the maximum support level for employees as per Resolution 42 is VND 1.8 million per person per month. At the same time, individuals eligible for more than one type of support mentioned in this Resolution are entitled to the highest single support policy; those who voluntarily opt out are not supported.
