Do principals of high schools have a teaching quota?
Article 7 of the Regulations on working policies for general education teachers issued together with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT, amended by Clause 6 Article 1 of Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT, regulates the teaching quota for Principals and Vice-Principals as follows:
Principals and Vice-Principals of general education schools are required to teach certain hours to understand the educational content, curriculum, and student learning situations to improve management efficiency.
Teaching quota for Principals and Vice-Principals.
The annual teaching quota for Principals is calculated as: 2 periods/week x the number of weeks allocated for teaching and educational activities according to the annual academic schedule regulations;
The annual teaching quota for Vice-Principals is calculated as: 4 periods/week x the number of weeks allocated for teaching and educational activities according to the annual academic schedule regulations.
Thus, according to current regulations, Principals will still teach, and the teaching quota for Principals is 2 periods per week.
How long is the summer break for high school teachers?
According to Clause 3 Article 5 of these Regulations, amended by Clause 4 Article 1 of Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT, the annual leave time for teachers includes: summer break, Lunar New Year break, semester breaks, and other holidays. To be specific:
