Contract Duration for Foreign Employees Working in Vietnam
According to Clause 2, Article 151 of the Labor Code 2019 (effective from January 1, 2021), it is stipulated:
The duration of labor contracts for foreign workers working in Vietnam must not exceed the duration of the work permit. When employing foreign workers in Vietnam, both parties may negotiate multiple times on fixed-term labor contracts.
This is a newly stipulated provision directly in the Labor Code 2019 regarding the duration of labor contracts for foreign workers working in Vietnam.
