Company Regulations on Weekly Days Off Not Falling on Sunday: Is This Correct?
Article 111 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulates weekly rest as follows:
Each week, employees are entitled to at least 24 consecutive hours of rest. In special cases where the labor cycle does not allow for weekly rest, the employer is responsible for ensuring that employees have an average of at least 4 days off per month.
The employer has the right to decide to arrange the weekly rest day on Sunday or another specified day during the week, but it must be recorded in the labor regulations.
If the weekly rest day coincides with a holiday prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of this Code, the employee is entitled to compensatory rest on the next working day.
=> Based on the above regulations, your company may stipulate the weekly rest day to not be on Sunday. However, this must be recorded in the labor regulations.
Sincerely!
