Can the Company Pay Half of the Official Salary During the Probationary Period?

I have just been employed as an accountant for a chain of flower shops. The owner mentioned that I am on a one-month probation period, and during this month, since I am not yet familiar with the job, the company will only pay me half of the official salary. Is this correct? Are there any legal regulations regarding this issue?

Based on the provisions of Article 26 of the 2019 Labor Code regarding probationary wages:

The salary of an employee during the probationary period is agreed upon by both parties, but must be at least 85% of the wage for that position.

According to this provision, the company's payment of 85% of the wage to the probationary employee is not dependent on how effectively the employee works, but this is the minimum probationary wage that the enterprise must meet when hiring an employee on probation.

According to the information you provided, the company hired you for the position of accountant; however, the wage paid is only 50% of the official wage, which is against legal provisions. In this case, you can negotiate again with the company to ensure your rights.
