Can Employees Receive Monthly Salary Advances?

I am currently working at a garment company with a monthly salary of 7 million VND. However, this month, before the payday, I had an urgent matter so I approached the manager to request a salary advance but it was not approved. Could you please clarify if the manager's refusal to give me a salary advance is lawful? I hope the editorial board can assist.

According to Article 100 of the 2012 Labor Code, it is stipulated that:

- Employees are to receive wage advances based on conditions mutually agreed upon by both parties.

- Employers are required to advance wages corresponding to the number of days an employee temporarily takes leave to fulfill civic obligations lasting from one week or more, but not exceeding one month's wages. The advanced amount must be reimbursed unless it pertains to military service obligations.

=> Therefore, wage advances are subject to mutual agreement between you and your employer when entering into the labor contract. You may review the contract to check for any stipulations regarding this matter.
