Can a Technical College Graduate Become a Class IV Technician?
At Clause 2, Clause 3, Article 11 of Joint Circular 24/2014/TTLT-BKHCN-BNV stipulates the standards to become a Grade IV technician as follows:
- Standards on education and training qualifications:+ Possess an intermediate level or higher in the technical field;+ Have a Level 1 (A1) foreign language proficiency as stipulated in Circular No. 01/2014/TT-BGDDT dated January 24, 2014, by the Ministry of Education and Training, promulgating the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam;+ Have basic information technology skills in accordance with the standards stipulated in Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT dated March 11, 2014, by the Ministry of Information and Communications on Information Technology Skill Standards.
- Standards on professional and operational competence:+ Understand the basic content of the direction, tasks of production development, and technological innovation of the sector and unit;+ Possess theoretical knowledge of a technical specialty, with the ability to proficiently practice common technical tasks undertaken;+ Be familiar with technical processes, technical standards, norms, safety techniques, and labor protection.
According to these regulations, to become a Grade IV technician, you must fully meet the conditions on education, training, and professional competence.
Therefore, in addition to having a college degree in engineering, you must also meet the additional conditions on foreign language proficiency, computer skills, and professional competence to become a Grade IV technician.
