Adoptive Mother's Death: Entitlement to Paid Leave?
According to Clause 1, Article 115 of the 2019 Labor Code regarding personal leave and unpaid leave, it is stipulated that:
Employees are entitled to personal leave with full pay and must inform their employers in the following cases:
- Marriage: 3 days off;
- Biological or adopted child's marriage: 1 day off;
- Biological father, biological mother, adoptive father, adoptive mother; biological father, biological mother, adoptive father, adoptive mother of the spouse; spouse or biological child, adopted child who passes away: 3 days off.
Thus, if your adoptive mother passes away, you are entitled to 3 days off with full pay and must inform the company. If you wish to take additional leave, you may negotiate with the company. If the company agrees, you can take unpaid leave.
