According to the specific objectives by 2025, how many enterprises will undergo workplace environmental monitoring in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Subsection 2, Section 1 of the National program for occupational safety and health in 2021 - 2025 period issued together with the Resolution 19/NQ-CP in 2022 stipulating the specific objectives by 2025 of the occupational hygiene and safety:
OBJECTIVES
1. General objectives
Improve working conditions; prevent occupational accidents and diseases, tend to workers’ health; safeguard workers’ life, Government’s properties and organizations’ assets towards sustainable development of the country.
2. Specific objectives by 2025
a) Objective 1: Reduce the frequency of fatal occupational accidents by 4% averagely on annual basis.
b) Objective 2: Increase the number of workers to be examined for occupational diseases by 5% averagely on annual basis; increase the number of enterprises undergoing workplace environmental monitoring by 5% averagely on annual basis.
c) Objective 3: Provide training in occupational safety and health to over 90% of managerial individuals in charge of occupational safety and health tasks working in district-level authorities and in management boards of economic zones, industrial parks, export processing zones and hi-tech parks.
d) Objective 4: Provide training in occupational safety and health to over 80% of workers performing tasks or jobs bound by strict requirements for occupational safety and health, and to 80% of individuals in charge occupational safety and health tasks.
dd) Objective 5: Provide training in occupational safety and health to over 80% of individuals in charge of grassroots healthcare tasks.
e) Objective 6: Provide proper information on occupational safety and health to over 80% of craft villages and cooperatives at high risk of occupational accidents and diseases.
g) Objective 7: Pay compensations and benefits to over 80% of victims of occupational accidents or diseases in accordance with regulations of law.
h) Objective 8: Report, investigate and settle 100% of fatal occupational accidents in accordance with regulations of law.
As regulated above, according to the specific objectives by 2025, the number of enterprises undergoing workplace environmental monitoring shall be increased by 5% averagely on annual basis.

What is occupational environment monitoring according to the law in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Clause 10 Article 3 of the Law on occupational safety and hygiene in 2015 stipulating occupational environment monitoring:
Occupational environment monitoring means activities of collection, analysis, assessment of figures in terms of occupational environment factors at the workplace to introduce measures for minimizing harmful effects on health and prevention of occupational diseases.
How many times shall an empoloyer conduct ocupational environment monitoring in a year in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 18 of the Law on occupational safety and hygiene in 2015 stipulating control of dangerous or harmful factors at the workplace:
Control of dangerous or harmful factors at the workplace
1. The employer shall inspect and control dangerous or harmful factors at the workplace to introduce technical measures for occupational safety and hygiene and healthcare for employees; and carry out measures for decontamination and sterilization applicable to employees who works in a contaminated or infected place.
2. Regarding harmful factors that there are regulations on permitted restrictions to control harmful effect on employees’ health promulgated by the Ministry of Health, the employer shall organize occupational environment monitoring to assess those harmful factor at least once a year. Units in charge of occupational environment monitoring must satisfy requirements for facilities, equipment and personnel.
3. Regarding dangerous factors, the employer shall regularly inspect and manage in conformity with technical standards of occupational safety and hygiene and they must be inspected and assessed at least once a year as prescribed.
4. After receiving results of occupational environment monitoring to assess harmful factors and results of inspection, assessment and management of dangerous factor at the workplace, the employer must:
a) Announce the results to employees where the occupational environment monitoring is carried out and dangerous factors are subject to inspection, assessment and management.
b) Provide information for trade unions, or competent agencies at their requests;
c) Impose measures for elimination or control of dangerous or harmful factors at the workplace to ensure occupational safety and hygiene and healthcare for employee.
5. The Government shall provide guidance on control of dangerous or harmful factors at the workplace and operation condition of the units in charge of occupational environment monitoring shall be in accordance with the Law on Investment and Law on enterprises.
As regulated above, regarding harmful factors that there are regulations on permitted restrictions to control harmful effect on employees’ health promulgated by the Ministry of Health, the employer shall organize occupational environment monitoring to assess those harmful factor at least once a year.
