1. What are the responsibilities of senior accountants in Vietnam?
Under Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 29/2022/TT-BTC, the responsibilities of senior accountants in Vietnamare as follows:
A senior accountant is the official with the highest level of professional expertise in the field of accounting, assigned to leadership positions at the Department, Directorate, and equivalent levels in Ministries, sectors, agencies, and units at the central level. They perform the function of managing accounting tasks, assisting the unit leaders in directing, operating, and managing the implementation of the accounting system.
2. What are the duties of senior accountants in Vietnam?
Under Clause 2, Article 5 of Circular 29/2022/TT-BTC, the duties of senior accountants in Vietnam are as follows:
a) Preside over the research and formualtion of legal documents on finance and accounting; strategic projects for the development of accounting work for the sector and field;
b) Preside over the organization of coordinating related field operations between management levels within the same sectors, ensuring nationwide uniformity and consistency;
c) Preside over the development of materials, curricula, and guidelines for training and fostering the team of officials engaged in accounting work;
d) Preside over the organization, direction, and performance of accounting tasks, and the inspection of accounting operations;
dd) Preside over the organization, compilation, evaluation, and analysis of finance, draw lessons and propose adjustment plans, amend or supplement operational procedures; amend and supplement current accounting regulations to ensure more effective and efficient management.
