How long does one have to perform auditing duties at the State Audit Office before being appointed to the Auditor rank?
Based on Article 21 of the State Audit Law 2015, a state auditor must meet the following standards according to the laws applicable to officials, along with the specific requirements listed below:
Possess good ethical qualities, a sense of responsibility, integrity, honesty, and objectivity;
Hold a university degree or higher in one of the auditing, accounting, finance, banking, economics, law majors, or another field directly related to auditing activities;
Have at least 5 years of continuous work experience in a trained specialization or have spent at least 3 years performing auditing duties at the State Audit Office, excluding probationary periods;
Hold a state auditor certificate.
Thus, you need to have performed auditing duties at the State Audit Office for at least 3 years and satisfy other conditions to meet the standards to become a state auditor.
Who has the authority to appoint state auditors?
Based on Article 20 of this law, the regulations are as follows:
- State auditors consist of the following ranks:
a) Auditor;
b) Principal Auditor;
c) Senior Auditor.
- The General Auditor of the State Audit Office has the authority to appoint and dismiss the ranks of State Auditors.
Therefore, the General Auditor of the State Audit Office has the authority to appoint the ranks of State Auditors.
