What are the responsibilities of principal accountants in Vietnam?
Under Clause 1, Article 6 of Circular 29/2022/TT-BTC, the responsibilities of principal accountants in Vietnam are as follows:
The principal accountant is an official with a high level of professional expertise in accounting at agencies and organizations from the district level upwards, performing the function of managing accounting work, assisting the leadership of the unit in directing, operating, and managing accounting operations within the unit or organizing the implementation of accounting work at the unit.
What are the duties of principal accountants in Vietnam?
According to Clause 2, Article 6 of Circular 29/2022/TT-BTC, the duties of principal accountants in Vietnam are as follows:
a) Preside over or participate in research, formualtion of legal documents on accounting; approve accounting systems and accounting policies applied to the unit, industry, or field of state accounting;
b) Organize the consolidation, evaluation, analysis of finance, draw lessons, and propose plans for adjustment, amendment, or supplementation of operating procedures, accounting policies applied, consolidate reporting to higher levels;
c) Organize, direct, manage, guide, inspect accounting work and propose measures for direction and rectification to ensure unified management of accounting work of the unit, industry, field;
d) Research, guide the implementation of accounting work suitable to the characteristics, actual situation, and management requirements of the locality, unit, industry, field;
dd) Preside over or participate in the development of materials, curriculum for training and fostering the team of accountants.
