College Diploma in Banking and Finance: Eligibility for the Accountant Certification Exam?
Based on Clause 2, Article 4 of Decree 91/2017/TT-BTC, which stipulates that candidates sitting for the accountant certificate examination must have:
A university degree or higher in the fields of Finance, Banking, Accounting, Auditing; or a university degree in other fields with a total of course units (or class hours) on subjects such as Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Financial Activity Analysis, Taxation of 7% or more of the total course units (or class hours) of the entire course; or a university degree in other fields and a diploma, certificate of completion of courses issued by an international professional organization in accounting, auditing that meets the provisions of Article 9 of this Circular.
According to this regulation, candidates taking the accountant certificate examination must have at least a university degree in the fields of Finance, Banking, Accounting, Auditing. Therefore, those with an associate degree in Finance - Banking will not meet the educational qualification requirements to sit for the accountant certificate examination.
