Can a Bachelor of Law degree holder become a senior accountant?
Pursuant to Clause 4, Article 4 of Circular 29/2012/TT-BTC stipulating the standards on education and training levels as follows:
a) Possess a university degree or higher in a training major suitable to the job position requirements;
b) Possess an advanced diploma in political theory or advanced political - administrative theory or have a certificate of equivalent level of political theory certification issued by a competent authority;
c) Hold a certificate of knowledge and skills enhancement in state management for officials of senior specialist ranks and equivalents or possess an advanced diploma in political - administrative theory.
Thus, comparing these conditions, although you hold a bachelor's degree, you do not have a training major suitable to the job position requirements, so you cannot become a senior accountant.
What are the tasks of a senior accountant?
At Clause 2, Article 4 of Circular 29/2022/TT-BTC stipulating the tasks of a senior accountant. To be specific:
a) Presiding over research to develop sector development strategies; researching and proposing guidelines, policies, and tax management measures in line with the sector development strategy and local economic development strategy;
b) Proposing guidelines for tax policy formulation, revenue management solutions to perform state management functions on internal revenue collections within the scope and area of management;
c) Leading research, participating in the drafting of legal documents on tax; tax management procedure regulations;
d) Leading proposals for amendments, supplements, adjustments to policies, regulations in each field of tax management.
