Who Is Exempt from Paying Passenger Service Fees at Airports?
According to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 6 of Circular 53/2019/TT-BGTVT, the content is stipulated as follows:
Individuals exempted from service fees for passenger services:
a) Passengers on flights subject to fee exemptions as outlined in Clause 1 of this Article.
b) Passengers in transit within 24 hours (excluding passengers in transit connecting domestic - international flights and vice versa): applicable only if the arriving and departing segments to and from Vietnam are issued on the same passenger and baggage ticket.
c) Crew members (including cases of airport transfer flights).
d) Children under 02 years of age: calculated at the time of departure of the first segment.
Thus, the 04 categories exempted from passenger service fees at the airport are:
- Passengers on flights subject to service fee exemptions;
- Passengers in transit within 24 hours (excluding passengers in transit connecting domestic - international flights and vice versa): applicable only if the arriving and departing segments to and from Vietnam are issued on the same passenger and baggage ticket;
- Crew members (including cases of airport transfer flights);
- Children under 02 years of age: calculated at the time of departure of the first segment.
