3. Weapons and support tools, including: Pistols, rifles, submachine guns, electric guns, net guns, rubber bullet guns, tear gas guns, tracer bullet guns, pepper spray, electric batons, body armor, handcuffs, traffic command stick.
As regulations above, following weapons and combat equipment shall be equipped for the traffic police during patrols and inspections as follows:
- Pistols
- Rifles
- Submachine guns
- Electric guns
- Net guns
- Rubber bullet guns
- Tear gas guns
- Tracer bullet guns
- Pepper spray
- Electric batons
- Body armor
- Handcuffs
- Traffic command stick
Which vehicles can traffic police in Vietnam use for patrol?
Pursuant to Clause 2 Article 13 of the Circular 32/2023/TT-BCA, traffic police in Vietnam can use following vehicles for patrol:
1. Patrol and control vehicles (white paint); special vehicles: Have bilingual (Vietnamese and English) traffic police lettering, install lights, police flags, and priority signal horns as stipulated by law;
2. Patrol and control cars:
- On both sides of the car body, there is a blue reflective paint strip, with the middle line with the white word "CẢNH SÁT GIAO THÔNG" (Traffic Police) (made of reflective material), the size of the word 10cm x 10cm, line of the word 03cm, balanced on both sides of the car body;
- On both sides of the front doors, there is the blue word "TRAFFIC POLICE" (made of reflective material), the maximum size of the letter is two-thirds the size of the word "CẢNH SÁT GIAO THÔNG" and the police badge in the middle of the two words "TRAFFIC" and "POLICE".
- Depending on the type of vehicle, the spacing between letters and words is arranged for balance and suitability;
3. Patrol and control motorbikes:
- On both sides of the fuel tank or both sides of the side or on both sides of the trunk, the top has the word "C.S.G.T", the bottom has the word "TRAFFIC POLICE" in blue (made of reflective material);
- The maximum size of the word "TRAFFIC POLICE" is two-thirds the size of the word "C.S.G.T".
- Depending on the type of vehicle, the size of the letter and the spacing between the letters are arranged for balance and suitability;
4. Special vehicles:
- On both sides of the body or side of the vehicle, there is the word "CẢNH SÁT GIAO THÔNG" made of reflective material, the size of the letter 10cm x 10cm, line of the letter 03cm;

5. The priority signal horn is used in accordance with the law.
6. The priority signal lights are used continuously in the following cases:
+ Patrol and mobile control;
+ Control at a point at night, at night or during the day in conditions of fog, bad weather that limits visibility.

Pursuant to Clause 1 Article 12 of the Circular 32/2023/TT-BCA stipulating purposes of patrols of the traffic police in Vietnam as follows:
- Observe and monitor the traffic and safety situation on the road network.
- Prevent violations, traffic accidents, and traffic congestion.
- Maintain traffic and safety on the road network.
- Detect, prevent, and handle violations of the law on road traffic and other violations as prescribed.
- Ensure traffic and safety, security, and order on the road network.
- Provide assistance to people and vehicles participating in road traffic when necessary.
- Implement other tasks as assigned by the competent authority in accordance with regulations.
