What is a Two-Way Street?
In Article 3 of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT (effective from July 1, 2020) on road signs, it is stipulated:
A two-way road is a road used for both directions on the same roadway without a median strip.
Additionally, the Regulation also stipulates:
- A road dedicated to motor vehicles is a route, part of the road, or lane specifically for motor vehicles to travel, separated from the part of the road designated for non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians by a median strip or a continuous longitudinal line and guided by road signs or markings.
- A road dedicated to certain types of vehicles is a route, part of the road, or lane specifically for one or a few types of vehicles to travel, separated from the part of the road for other vehicles and guided by road signs or markings.
- A road dedicated to non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians is a route, part of the road, or lane distinguished from the part of the road designated for motor vehicles by median strips or continuous longitudinal lines.
- A priority road is one on which vehicles participating in traffic are given right-of-way by vehicles coming from other directions at intersections, indicated by priority road signs.
