What is a One-Way Street?
In Article 3 of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT (effective from July 1, 2020) on road signs, it is stipulated:
A one-way street is a street that allows traffic in one direction only.
Additionally, the Regulation also provides:
- A road dedicated to motor vehicles is a road, part of a road, or lane specifically reserved for motor vehicles to travel, separated from the part of the road assigned to non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians by a median strip or continuous longitudinal line, and indicated by road signs or road markings.
- A road dedicated to certain types of vehicles is a road, part of a road, or lane specifically reserved for one or several types of vehicles to travel, separated from the part of the road assigned to other vehicles and indicated by road signs or road markings.
- A road dedicated to non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians is a road, part of a road, or lane differentiated from the part of the road assigned to motor vehicles by median strips or continuous longitudinal lines.
- A priority road is a road on which vehicles participating in traffic are given priority by vehicles coming from other directions when crossing an intersection, marked with a priority road sign.
