What does a long, strong whistle from a traffic police officer signify?
At Article 7 of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT (effective from July 1, 2020), there are provisions regarding the use of whistle signals in traffic control by traffic police as follows:
- One long, strong whistle sound is a command to stop;
In addition, the regulation also states:
- One short whistle sound permits to go;- One long whistle sound followed by one short whistle sound permits to turn left;- Two short, strong whistle sounds signal danger, slow down;- Three short, rapid whistle sounds signal to speed up;- Continuous, strong, repeated whistle sounds signal that the vehicle must stop for inspection or signal a vehicle violation.
