Rules for participating in traffic on the highway
Based on Article 26 of the Road Traffic Law 2008, the rules are stipulated as follows:
- Drivers and operators of special-use vehicles on the highway, in addition to complying with the traffic rules prescribed in this Law, must also adhere to the following regulations:
a) When entering the highway, signals must be given and the road must be yielded to vehicles already on the highway; only when it is safe can the vehicle merge into the traffic flow in the lane closest to the outer edge. If there is an acceleration lane, the vehicle must use it before entering the highway lane;
b) When exiting the highway, gradually move to the right lane; if there is a deceleration lane, the vehicle must use it before leaving the highway;
c) Do not drive in the emergency stopping lane or on the shoulder;
d) Do not drive over the maximum speed or under the minimum speed indicated on the signage and road markings.
Drivers and operators of special-use vehicles must maintain a safe distance from other vehicles as indicated on the traffic signs.
Vehicles may only stop and park in designated areas; in cases where it is imperative to stop or park in non-designated areas, the driver must move the vehicle out of the driving lane; if this is not possible, signals must be given to alert other drivers.
Pedestrians, rudimentary vehicles, mopeds, motorcycles, and tractors; special-use vehicles with a design speed lower than 70 km/h are not allowed on the highway, except for personnel, vehicles, and equipment serving the management and maintenance of the highway.
Respectfully!
