Point i, Clause 2, Article 6 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP stipulates penalties imposed on motorcyclists in Vietnam as follows:
A fine ranging from 200,000 VND to 300,000 VND for drivers committing one of the following violations:
The operator or the passenger on the vehicle does not wear a motorcycle helmet or does not wear it properly.
Thus, for the violation of failure to wear a motorcycle helmet, you can be fined from 200,000 VND to 300,000 VND.
* Failure to obey the stop order in Vietnam
Under Point g, Clause 4 and Point c, Clause 10, Article 6 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP:
4. A fine ranging from 600,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND for motorcycle drivers committing one of the following violations:
g) Failure to obey the orders or instructions of the traffic conductor or traffic guard;
10. Apart from incurring fines, the violating operator shall also incur the following additional penalties:
c) ... Committing violation(s) specified in Points a, g, h, k, l, m and q of Clause 1; Points b, d, e, g, l and m of Clause 2; Points b, c, k and m of Clause 3; Points dd, e, g and h of Clause 4 of this Article and causing accidents shall lead to suspension of driving license from 2 months to 4 months;
In case, when operating a motorcycle, you fail to obey the stop order of the traffic police officer and try to escape, you will be fined from 600,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND. If you escape and cause a traffic accident, your driving license will be revoked from 2 months to 4 months.
=> Thus, the total fine for the above two violations ranges from 800,000 VND to 1,300,000 VND.
