Upgrading B1 Driver's License to B2: Is a Health Certificate Required?
According to Article 9 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT on the documentation for upgrading a driver's license class, the requirements include:
- An application form for learning and testing to issue a driver's license, as per the template specified in Appendix 7 issued with this Circular;
- A copy of the identity card or citizen identification card or valid passport that includes the identity card number or citizen identification card for Vietnamese citizens; a valid passport for Vietnamese citizens residing abroad;
- A copy of a passport valid for more than 06 months and the temporary residence card or permanent residence card or diplomatic identity card or public service identity card for foreigners;
- A health certificate for drivers issued by a competent medical facility as prescribed;
- A declaration of professional experience and the number of safe driving kilometers as per the template specified in Appendix 8 issued with this Circular, and the content of the declaration must be accountable under the law.
Thus, for the document for a driver's license upgrade from class B1 to class B2, it will include the papers mentioned above. Therefore, in this case, you must have a health certificate issued by a competent medical facility.
