Upgrading a Driver's License from Class B2 to Class D: Is a Health Certificate Required?
First of all, to take the exam for upgrading a driver's license from class B2 to class D, you need to ensure that you meet the conditions for upgrading according to the provisions of the Road Traffic Law and Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BGTVT. Details can be referenced HERE.
Pursuant to Article 9 of Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BGTVT, the application dossier for the exam to upgrade the driver's license from class B2 to class D includes:
- An application form for learning, testing to issue a driver's license according to the form specified in Appendix 7 issued with Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BGTVT;
- A copy of the identity card or citizen identification card or passport that is still valid and contains the identity card or citizen identification card number;
- A health certificate for the driver issued by a competent medical facility as prescribed.
- A declaration of the time of practice and the number of safe driving kilometers according to the form specified in Appendix 8 issued with Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BGTVT and must take responsibility for the contents declared before the law;
- A copy of the lower secondary school graduation diploma or a higher equivalent diploma for the case of upgrading the driver's license to classes D, E (present the original when checking the test application dossier).
Thus, based on the aforementioned regulations, when taking the exam to upgrade the driver's license from class B2 to class D, you must have a health certificate issued by a competent medical facility as prescribed.
