The height of installing signs and the combination of road traffic signs is regulated how?
According to the provisions set forth in Article 22 of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT on Road Signs, the content is regulated as follows:
22.1. Signs are to be securely fixed on poles as stipulated in Article 24 of this Regulation. In certain cases, it may be permissible to combine the placement of signs on utility poles, trees, or architectural structures, ensuring they remain easily observable and aesthetically pleasing.
22.2. In the case of signs placed on poles: the height of the sign from its lower edge to the roadway surface is 1.8 meters for roads outside populous areas and 2.0 meters for roads within populous areas, measured vertically. Sign number 507 "Turn Direction" is placed at a height between 1.2 meters and 1.5 meters. Signs specifically for non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians are placed higher than the road surface, roadside shoulder, or sidewalk at 1.8 meters. In special cases, this height can be adjusted accordingly but must not be less than 1.2 meters and not exceed 5.0 meters, as decided by the Road Management Authority.
22.3. If multiple signs need to be placed at the same location, it is permissible to combine them on the same pole, but not more than three signs, and in the following priority order: prohibition signs, mandatory signs, warning or hazard signs, and directional signs (see illustration in Figure 3).
Note: the numbers indicated in the figure represent the priority order.
Figure 3. Diagram combining signs on one pole
The distance between the edges of adjacent signs is 5 cm, and the height from the lowest edge of the signs in the grouped signs to the road surface is 1.7 meters for roads outside populous areas and 2.0 meters for roads within populous areas.
22.4. In cases where it is difficult to arrange as stipulated in Clause 22.3 of this Article, and the number of signs is high, a combined square or rectangular sign with sufficient size may be used, on which the individual signs (single signs) are illustrated in the specified order. The distance between the nearest edges of the single signs and from the edge of the single sign to the edge of the combined sign is 10 cm.
22.5. In cases where it is necessary to combine one or more signs from the groups of prohibition signs, warning or hazard signs, and mandatory signs with supplementary signs, it may be permissible to integrate the images or symbols of the supplementary signs onto the main sign on the same face of a combined sign of sufficient size, either square or rectangular.
Sincerely!
