Technical Regulations on Signage for Two Inland Waterway Channels
Based on Section 2.1.9, Chapter II of the National Technical Regulations QCVN 39:2020/BGTVT issued with Circular 08/2020/TT-BGTVT (effective from November 1, 2020) stipulates:
Two-channel Signage (set underwater) (A9)
Signaling both channels are main channels (A9.1)
| Shape: Indicator is a truncated cone or cylinder with a spherical marker Color: Marker has 3 horizontal bands in red-green-red, truncated cone or cylinder has 4 bands green-red- green-red Light signal: Rapid equal flashing light with a 2-second cycle, white light Meaning: "Indicates 'In the area where the river buoy is placed, the canal splits into two channels, and both channels are main channels'" **** |

Signaling the right channel is the main channel (A9.2)
| Shape: Indicator is a truncated cone with a conical marker or a cylindrical buoy with spherical and conical markers Color: Truncated cone top half green, bottom half red, conical marker in green, or cylinder top half green, bottom half red, markers include spherical and conical in green Light signal: Continuous rapid flashing light, green light Meaning: "Indicates 'In the area where the river buoy is placed, the canal splits into two channels, the right channel is the main channel. The buoy's position marks the left limit of the main channel'" |
