Responsibilities of the Ship Captain, Chief Engineer, and Maritime Officers for Interns on Seagoing Ships from April 15, 2020
Pursuant to Article 66 of Circular 03/2020/TT-BGTVT (effective from April 15, 2020) stipulating the responsibilities of captains, chief engineers, and maritime officers towards interns on seagoing vessels as follows:
- Shipowners assign captains, chief engineers, and maritime officers the duty of guiding interns, lecturers, and trainers during their onboard internships.
- Captains, chief engineers, and maritime officers are responsible for guiding, training, coaching, certifying, and evaluating the contents and results of the interns' onboard training according to the internship process.
- The captain is responsible for certifying the boarding and disembarking times of the interns on seagoing vessels in the crew logbook and is accountable for their certification.
