Report on Maritime Accident Investigation: What Information is Included?
According to Clause 1, Article 19 of Circular 01/2020/TT-BGTVT (effective from March 15, 2020), the regulations state that the information in the Marine Accident Investigation Report includes:
- Summary of the basic factors of the marine accident, clearly stating the number of deaths, missing persons, injuries, or environmental pollution status;
- Information about the nationality, ship owner, ship management company, and ship operation company as specified in the safety management certificate and classification organization;
- The main parameters of the ship, its engine; information about the working and resting times of the crew members and the tasks performed before the marine accident occurred;
- Detailed description of the circumstances surrounding the marine accident;
- Analysis, reasoning, and evidence leading to the cause of the marine accident;
- Proposals for applying measures to prevent similar marine accidents.
