Reissuing A1 License: Is Health Certificate Required?
Based on the provisions specified in Clause 2, Article 36 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT:
Individuals whose driving licenses are lost and still valid or expired for less than 03 months are eligible to apply for reissuance of the driving license.
The dossier includes:
- An application form for the reissuance of the driving license as prescribed in Appendix 19 issued together with this Circular;- The original documents corresponding to the driving license (if available);- A medical certificate for the driver issued by a competent medical authority as prescribed, except for the reissuance of indefinite driving licenses for classes A1, A2, A3;- A copy of an identity card, citizen identification card, or valid passport indicating the number of the identity card or citizen identification card (for Vietnamese nationals) or a valid passport (for foreigners and overseas Vietnamese).
When performing the procedures for the reissuance of the driving license at the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam or the Department of Transport, drivers must submit 01 set of dossiers, have their photograph taken directly, and present the originals of the above-mentioned documents (except for the originals already submitted) for comparison. After 02 months from the date of submission of a complete dossier, photo, and payment of the prescribed fee, if no driving license is found to be withheld or handled by competent authorities, and the name appears in the dossier of the managing agency, the driving license will be reissued.
According to this regulation, in the case of reapplying for indefinite driving licenses of classes A1, A2, A3, the applicant is not required to obtain a medical certificate from a competent medical facility.
Therefore, you only need to prepare the documents and papers as specified above and are not required to have a medical certificate to get class A1 license reissued.
Respectfully!
