Regulations on buses in passenger transport business by bus
Based on Article 29 of Circular 12/2020/TT-BGTVT and Clause 5 Article 1 of Circular 02/2021/TT-BGTVT (effective from February 25, 2021), the regulations regarding buses are as follows:
- Must fully comply with the provisions of Clause 2 Article 5 of Decree No. 10/2020/ND-CP.
- The bus must be equipped with emergency escape tools, fire extinguishers that are still usable and valid as per regulations.
- Have a "BUS" insignia as per the template stipulated in Appendix 7 issued along with this Circular. The insignia is fixed at the top right corner just below the inspection stamp, on the inside of the front windshield of the bus.

+ Posting outside the bus:
- At the top of the front and rear windows: route number or route code, starting point, and endpoint of the route; minimum letter height of 06 cm;- On both sides of the bus: route number or route code, the phone number of the enterprise, cooperative with minimum dimensions: length of 20 cm, width of 20 cm; fare (declared fare) as per the template stipulated in Appendix 22 issued along with this Circular.
+ Posting inside the bus: vehicle registration number (vehicle control plate), route number or route code; schematic diagram showing the starting point, endpoint, and stopping points along the route; fare (declared fare) as per the template stipulated in the Appendix issued along with this Circular; hotline mobile phone numbers of the transport business enterprise, cooperative, and local Department of Transportation; responsibilities of the driver, service staff on the bus, and passengers;
+ Inside the bus, there must be a Traffic Safety and Emergency Exit Guide Board placed where passengers can easily observe, with main contents including: instructions on fastening seat belts (if available); instructions on luggage arrangement; no-smoking sign on the bus; instructions on using the electrical system on the bus (if available); instructions on using the fire extinguisher, emergency hammer, and emergency exits in case of incidents.
